Position Summary: This position is responsible for the operation, administration and management of company sponsored benefit programs at Kiewit.   Reports to the Director of Compensation and Benefits through Corporate HR.

Overview:
• Manages the benefits team to provide benefit programs for staff and non-union craft employees globally.
• Specific areas of responsibility include health and welfare plans, fringe benefits, retirement plans, regulatory compliance, audits, mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration, and communication.
• Serves as subject matter expert in one or more of these areas and coordinates with internal and external partners to meet department and business goals.

Responsibilities:
• Develops, implements, and maintains market competitive benefit programs to enhance the employee value proposition through recruitment and retention. 
• Collaborate with internal partners and outside consultants to design, plan and manage the implementation, communication and administration of enterprise wide employee benefit programs.
• Ensure high quality value added benefits are available for employees while managing costs.  Ensure programs globally are consistent and meet company benefit philosophy.
• Manage development of open enrollment materials and presentation decks for use by Benefits team and internal partners.
• Support a culture of wellness that proactively seeks solutions to set the standard for quality, effectiveness and value while focusing efforts on the key areas of concern for the employee population.
• Oversee 401(k) and RRSP (Canada) plan administration and work with external consultants and legal (ERISA).  This position is also a member of the Investment committee.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations including ERISA, COBRA and HIPAA including implementing and managing appropriate business processes and internal controls.
• Stay abreast of changing regulations to be able to provide guidance and direction to teams and develop strategies to mitigate risk exposure.
• Manage vendor relationships with consultants, third party administrators, brokers and other applicable vendors.
• Provides overall prioritization of work assignments and management of benefits team resources and activities.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field.
• Seven (7) or more years of relevant and progressive experience in Benefits, Human Resources, Payroll, or related field.
• CPP, CBP, CEBS, GRP, GPHR certifications desired.
• Effective communication – tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs.
