Position Overview
Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking an Early Career BIM Designer for our Industrial Building Group. The BIM Designer will be responsible for development and execution of Building design deliverables including multi-discipline 3D models and construction documents. This position will focus on the execution of a variety of building projects related to the Power, Industrial, Water, Infrastructure and Services industries.

Our rapidly growing Industrial and Water Engineering Group, which includes mechanical, process, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Consumer Products, Heavy Manufacturing, Industrial Buildings, Industrial Water and Utilities. We have specialized expertise in plant floor process design, packaging, refrigerated/frozen facility design, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
Location
This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the execution of multi-discipline project design deliverables in Revit, as assigned by the project lead.
• Work in a team environment with other designers and architects/engineers to meet the goals of the projects.
• Provide quality checks for deliverables in accordance with company standards
• Participate in BIM/Revit process, tool and standard development/maintenance
• Become familiar with company “design-build” engineering design processes
Qualifications
- Completion of a vocational training program, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Design or Architectural Technology; or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 1 year of BIM design experience using Revit and/or Navisworks
- Demonstrates ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents
- Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and in written form
- Knowledge and experience with BIM software (Revit and/or Navisworks) is required.
- Basic knowledge of the latest computer operating systems is required
- Knowledge of basic spreadsheet, database, word processing programs #LI-IPLA
