Position Overview

Our rapidly growing Eastern Canada Industrial market focus requires an Experienced Engineering Market Director to help support Industrial EPC pursuits and begin to grow our engineering team in Quebec. The current projects underway include aluminum manufacturing, lithium battery manufacturing, lithium recovery and processing, and combined heat and power just to name a few. 
We are seeking a Experienced Engineering Market Director who will work within our engineering team to provide the full range of service in an integrated delivery system – project development/conceptual design through design and construction.  This position will manage coordination between local Kiewit engineering resources and Kiewit Industrial SMEs in the US.
Engineering Directors at Kiewit are an integral part of our overall project management teams with direct access to engineering and construction leaders across the organization and an ability to impact all facets of project design.

Responsibilities

Business Development/Project Pursuits

  • Participate in our internal bid/no-bid process by providing information related to engineering resources, processes and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Support business development activities including RFP reviews, proposals, project estimates, engineering fee estimates, etc.;
  • Support the develop of project based strategic winning strategies, collaborating with the pursuit management team
  • Maintain a strong network of industry related individuals (OEM’s, 3rd Party Contractors, Developers, Local EP houses) for expanding Kiewit Engineering’s services and opportunities;
  • Participate in on-going high-level client relationships within the industry;
  • Assist with the development of the technical content for proposal documents ;
  • Support presentation of proposals to customers.

Project Execution

  • Manage and direct the engineering project teams through effective communication, coordination and follow up to meet project goals and objectives;
  • Facilitate effective communication between design and construction project leadership;
  • Ensure proper coordination of technical details across multiple engineering disciplines;
  • Plan and communicate the engineering resources required to support the projects;
  • Responsible for meeting engineering schedules and budgets;
  • Identify project risks along with mitigation strategies;
  • Ensure project scope of work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood; 
  • Direct the development of the engineering project execution plan;
  • Monitor and report project progress against the execution plan and plan the  appropriate corrective action if progress falls behind the plan;

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Experienced Engineering Project Manager position will possess the following qualities:

  • Excellent French oral and written communication skills, English a strong asset
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the industrial process, power, water/wastewater, mining, building, and oil, gas & chemical markets 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the delivery of engineering projects located in Quebec
  • Demonstrated engineering design and management experience
  • Strong leadership and networking skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License in Quebec
