Position Overview

Kiewit Energy US (KEUS) is seeking a Project Controls Analyst. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also utilizing these standards and tools to contribute to project success. Candidates shall be familiar with Scheduling and Earned Value basics. Candidates shall be capable of exhibiting flexibility in work assignments while maintaining a growth mindset and continuing to develop in their technical and professional career.

This position is located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.  
  • Develop resource loaded and cost loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
  • Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources and provide detailed analysis on schedule/milestone status to the project team as required.
  • Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates
  • Apply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting
  • May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • Experience developing resource and cost loaded schedules is preferred 
  • Basic understanding of financial terms and calculations (Gain, Loss, Forecast, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of construction engineering technology, codes and standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units is preferred
  • Basic understanding of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance)
  • Experience with some project controls software such as Excel and Primavera is preferred
