District Overview
Kiewit’s Northern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets. Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry rather than design.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with Project Leaders to set up the standards, policies, and control systems for the program. Provide guidance on employment laws, recruitment strategies, training and development, and workforce planning for the project.
- Assist front-line recruiters in organizing and executing high school and college recruitment events, ensuring smooth operations and effective engagement with prospective students.
- Monitor workforce productivity, retention, and engagement for trends and changes that require intervention.
- Support the development of HR related strategies and ensure implementation and execution.
- Ensure coaching, feedback and performance systems are in place, to maximize workforce productivity; provide support and guidance on internal transfers and promotions and movements in and off the project.
- Support the execution of performance improvement plans and provide consultation, as necessary.
- Assist with the succession planning processes & consult with managers on effective staff assignments and strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in HR, business, or a combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 5+ years in a role with similar responsibilities as outlined above in a position where you have executed systems thinking, program execution and process innovation, in a field/project environment. Demonstrated ability to execute both tactical and strategic initiatives for an organization.
- Ability to communicate and influence individuals and groups to gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and approaches. Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships with Leaders and employees, displaying sound business acumen and knowledge in the HR field.
- Strong analytical skills, utilizing data to inform and drive business decisions. Experience using analytical software/dashboards, and advanced use of MS Office Suite. Experience with SAP, Talent Navigator, highly desired.
- Technologically savvy, with the ability to learn, use and navigate various systems to support the project.

Base Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
