Position Overview

As a Project Controls Engineer, you will be part of a project controls team responsible for planning, scheduling, quantity management, budget cost controls, change management, and reporting. This hands-on role will give you the opportunity to directly interface with the estimating, design, and construction teams to ensure the accurate life cycle of quantity and cost management from original estimate through project completion.

Responsibilities

•    Understand project scope and contract
•    Managing quantity take-offs, incorporating any changes from the original estimate into all quantity, cost, and schedule reporting to support earned value claiming and material purchasing
•    Ensure work is being quantified and tracked in appropriate units of measure and cost items/codes
•    Oversee the creation of and updates to an integrated EPC schedule in Primavera P6
•    Lead effort for tracking budget, project costs, labor hours, schedule updates, installed quantities, and progress measurements for work to include direct hire and subcontracted work
•    Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule
•    Assess the impacts of design or construction changes and schedule delays
•    Prepare, review, and update weekly and monthly progress reports, graphs, and charts that include earned-value schedule progress, schedule forecasting, and executive Management Summaries
•    Coordination with project teams to assess reporting, identify risk, and create accurate forecasts
•    Manage a project controls team, including schedulers and cost analysts
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or other related degree
•    3-5+ years of experience on construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and/or project reports
•    Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
•    Ability to manage, analyze, and manipulate large data sets
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills 
•    Motivated, detail-oriented, and flexible
•    Able to direct and mange a team to achieve project goals, sometimes from a remote site
•    Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel etc.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
•    Working knowledge of Primavera P6 with a strong understanding of scheduling fundamentals
•    Strong decision-making skills
•    Demonstrated work ethic and working on large teams with multiple moving parts
•    The ability to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done
•    Occasional travel to project sites and offices is required

Preferred Qualifications
•    Construction or Design Project Engineering experience
•    Certifications (one or more): PE, PSP/PMI-SP, PMP, CST

Base Compensation: $92,179 - $138,268 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
