Position Overview

As a Financial Analyst for Kiewit, you will grow financial performance through analysis of financial results, forecasts, variances, and trends. This person will develop financial models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting to create recommendations to be presented to project leadership. This person will play a key role in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes and collaborate with various project and management teams. 

District Overview

Kiewit's Water Facilities South group is one of Kiewit's leading water/wastewater districts specializing in constructing water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, and desalination plants. Although we are headquartered in Westlake, TX (DFW area), with regional offices in Miami & Tampa FL and Atlanta GA, we also pursue various projects stretching across the country. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design. Responsibilities

  • Creates, reviews, and updates various project reports and makes appropriate corrections to ensure accurate reporting for management.
  • Coordinate with project teams to assess reporting and identify risks to create accurate forecasts.
  • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, providing trends and forecasts, explaining processes/techniques, and recommending actions.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in financial reporting and/or data analysis collaborating with different company teams/personnel of varying levels.
  • Construction and/or engineering industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel and/or relocate to project sites as needed in the future (TX, FL, and GA).
  • Knowledge of complex ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) to prepare financial reports and forecasts.
  • Knowledge utilizing data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to present complex financial analyses.
  • Knowledge utilizing the Microsoft Office 365 software suite to prepare and/or supplement financial reporting, forecasts, and analyses.
  • The ability to collaborate with various different project teams and personnel to gather data and create reports.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with operations leaders and key project stakeholders. 
  • The ability to work successfully both independently and on a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
