Position Overview

As a Planning Manager in the infrastructure construction industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of large-scale infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, transit systems, and utilities. You will lead a team of planners and schedulers, coordinate with project managers, and provide strategic input to optimize project timelines, resource allocation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

District Overview

Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. We serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada. 

Location

This position is based on our Union Station Project in Toronto.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Lead the planning team and coordinate planning activities across multiple projects.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify potential delays and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align schedules with project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
  • Support risk management and change control processes.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, or public transit systems.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-specific planning tools and methodologies. #LI-GH
