Position Overview
As a Contract Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting construction and engineering projects by managing contract documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitating communication between internal teams, clients, and subcontractors. You will work closely with project managers, estimators, legal teams, and procurement to ensure that all contract-related activities are executed efficiently and in alignment with company policies and project goals.
District Overview
Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. We serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada.
Location
This position is based on our Union Station Project in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Monitor contract compliance and performance, ensuring all parties meet their obligations.
- Maintain accurate and organized contract records and documentation.
- Support project teams in interpreting contract terms and resolving disputes or issues.
- Assist in the negotiation of contract terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors.
- Track contract changes, amendments, and claims, and ensure timely processing.
- Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to mitigate contractual risks.
- Prepare reports and summaries for project leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in contract administration, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of contract law, construction contracts (e.g., CCDC, FIDIC), and procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., NCMA, CCCM, CPCM) is an asset. #LI-GH
