This position is based out Toronto, ON, CA (Note: This position does NOT allow work from home)
Responsibilities
- Build effective working relationships with construction operations to facilitate successful procurement buyout in accordance with the project requirements, including continuous communication and follow-up;
- Research and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history;
- Leverage subcontractors and suppliers across multiple procurements to ensure value for money for the project;
- Advise and recommend subcontractors and suppliers based on best value for the project;
- Negotiate terms and conditions of relevant agreements, understand prime contract requirements;
- Administration of contracts including change orders, Invoice payment process, progress meetings and specified contract deliverables up to close out;
- Monitor shipments to ensure goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods;
- Confer with staff, users and subcontractors/suppliers to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or service and determine corrective action.
- Opportunity to prepare/issue Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluate subcontractor/supplier proposals to identify subcontractors/suppliers who meet project constraints of budget and schedule during project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, construction management, engineering or related; equivalent experience will be considered;
- Experience in construction environment preferred;
- Thorough understanding of procurement and subcontract management is required;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word);
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative;
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time;
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity;
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives ;
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail;
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt ;
- General knowledge of database utilization;
- SAP Experience a plus
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed;
