Position Overview

As a Project Equipment Manager,  you will  support Regional Construction & Mining operations.  In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling and budgeting for the maximized utilization equipment fleet.  In this role, you will deal with both day-to-day and long term fleet related issues focused on improved equipment reliability and preventative maintenance programs.

District Overview

Kiewit Equipment Services (KES) helps to ensure the profitability of Kiewit projects through the improved equipment utilization and mechanical reliability by delivering world-class equipment and service. 

Location

This position will be based out of The Woodlands, Texas, and typically requires 25% travel across the United States and Canada.  

Responsibilities

•    Work with estimating team before project development , take the project from estimating through development into execution,
•    Plan transport and gantry operations with engineering, and provide equipment and personnel needs to be worked into scheduling.
•    Participate in site visits, proposal development and contract development/reviews to ensure complete understanding of scope of work.
•    Maintain communication  with project team over the course of the project, and document changes that affect the job scope, schedule, or budget agreement.
•    Interact with project team, engineers, vendors, suppliers, and others throughout the design and planning phase of the project.
•    Work closely with project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule. Show critical path items and anticipate problematic issues. Responsible to foresee typical issues that historically challenge schedules, construction, and impact project costs. Identify these issues and work with project team to develop solutions to overcome potential problem areas.
•    Responsible to regularly and accurately communicating the project status, including schedule, financial status, risk assessment, quality, safety and other key areas.
•    Must be willing to travel as needed and be able to work with and manage field leadership.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or sufficient experience.
Experience:  7+ years in industry, must have experience enough to meet or exceed the essential duties listed above.
Technical Aptitude: 
•    A working knowledge and understanding of engineering plans and specifications. 
•    Must be mechanically inclined with basic understanding of machinery, heavy construction and basic principles of industrial project flow. 
•    Basic math and geometry are necessary. 
•    Must demonstrate planning and leadership skills. 
Administrative Skills: An understanding of construction contracts, Windows based software applications, and good time management skills.
