Position Overview

We are looking for an Events Coordinator to join our growing in-house creative team. This is a role for an exceptionally organized problem solver with a passion for executing first-class tradeshows, client events and internal events of all sizes and more for Kiewit’s diverse energy, industrial and water markets. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit and the ability to execute a project from conception through close-out.


This position is based out of The Woodlands, TX.


-    Independently plan, organize and execute events on-time and within budget, ensuring overall satisfaction of participants and sponsors. 
-    Liaise with internal stakeholders to discuss and plan event specifications such as scope, format, budget, logistics and special requirements.
-    Develop, document and enforce project timelines and budget.
-    Work closely with vendors including negotiating contracts, raising and mitigating issues immediately and closely monitoring expectations and quality control.  
-    Handle event logistics including guest invitations and attendee lists, venue specifications, shipping/receiving materials, marketing/presentations, catering and more.
-    Set-up, run and break down events, identifying and resolving problems immediately and professionally.
-    Work seamlessly with the internal design department to develop visual events elements such as trade show graphics, displays, invitations and giveaways and manage production of all print pieces including using in-house production tools and/or communicating with vendors.
-    Perform post-event tasks promptly. Review invoices, approve payments, balance budget, document details and conduct a lessons learned meeting.
-    Execute multiple projects with shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment and provide effective and timely solutions for any and all levels of requests. 
-    Collaborate with events colleagues to share industry updates, promote best practices, drive synergies and consistency, and foster a culture of innovation. 
-    Perform other creative, marketing or administrative job duties as assigned.


-    BA in Marketing, Communications or related field. 5+ years of corporate events experience.
-    Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
-    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word required)
-    Innate attention to detail and the ability to identify and mitigate issues immediately
-    Expert organizational, problem solving and time-management skills
-    Adaptable, quick learner
-    Excellent listening and communication skills including the ability to handle conflict calmly and professionally
-    Works well independently and on a team
-    Professionally handle constructive criticism
-    Travel up to 25%
-    Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
-    Ability to walk up and down ladders.
