Position Overview

As a  Labor & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for oversight for compliance support to construction projects requiring prevailing wage and other specific contracted labor requirements.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Southern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil projects that include earth moving, water/wastewater, transportation, roadways, and power projects. Most of our work is concentrated in the Southern California region. 

Location

This position is based out of Kiewit's office location in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, train, direct, and manage team to ensure successful fulfillment of department goals.
  • Assign work to team members in a fair and responsible manner that will meet or exceed project requirements, leverage individual team member talents, and support individual professional development goals.
  • Mange the process of track and review certified payroll for internal self-performing labor and external subcontractors on projects. 
  • Evaluate all public contracts (and any private that have special requirements) for labor requirements (certified payroll, skilled labor, local hire, diversity, and other such labor related requirements), and work with the project teams and appropriate departments to ensure appropriate plan in place to monitor and report, as well as to ensure proper submissions to agencies
  • Complete periodic audits on projects to verify compliance
  • Participate in risk assessment on the Compliance Programs and communicate to project teams
  • Monitor and stay up to date of labor and compliance laws and regulations that might affect the company policies and procedures
  • Participate in external party and government reviews, audits and inquiries, working in conjunction with necessary district teams
     

Qualifications

  • 5 -10 years of experience in labor and compliance in the construction industry
  • 2 years of supervision/management
  • Familiarity with document control tools and software such as SharePoint and Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and methods to collect and analyze data in order to identify and resolve business and/or technical problems
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Record of successfully creating, establishing, and utilizing business processes, quality standards, performance metrics, and work instructions
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Demonstrated commitment to business ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety, with a commitment to help ensure that nobody gets hurt
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Team player with the ability to lead others or work independently, as required, in order to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives

Base Compensation: $106,604 - $133,255 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
