Position Overview

Kiewit is looking to expand its engineering technology department into a world-class organization able to support Kiewit’s operational and development needs as it relates to engineering applications, especially Kiewit’s fully integrated SmartPlant environment. This position will work with other team members, Engineering and Design Departments to provide operational and development support.

Responsibilities

 

  • Setup and management of new and existing engineering projects within SmartPlant 3D
  • Convert vendor files using Smartplant Interop Publisher.
  • Attach and maintain Reference 3D models to Smart 3D projects.
  • Download DGN, SPReview models and manage the automation for each project.
  • Troubleshooting Isometrics and drawings issues in SmartPlant 3D software
  • Providing user-support to project resources
  • User education and training for new hires and end users to become proficient with SmartPlant 3D: Piping, Supports, Duct Bank, Tray, Equipment, Steel, Concrete, Drawings and reports, Isometrics, etc.
  • Identifying potential service level problems and facilitating solutions
  • Scheduling and prioritizing work to accommodate user needs with minimum impact
  • Continually seeking opportunities to increase end-user satisfaction
  • Establishing and monitoring Global Workshare
  • Troubleshooting MS SQL Database connection issues
  • Troubleshooting Interactive Rule Checker issues
  • Documenting changes and processes
  • Review backlog items, get inputs related to items that are opportunity for development 
  • Understand any new requirements from stakeholders 
  • Interface with discipline management and development team to establish urgency of development requests
  • Discuss and evaluate options for each development items
  • Review requirements with the development team based on inputs received from planning meetings
  • Schedule, estimate hours, and work to create a scope document. 
  • Evaluate any risks involved to existing projects and standard project prototype. 
  • Review and approve scope document for development requests
  • Review admin documentation for the new development and its relevant information such as location of the program files, source code, projects deployed etc. 
  • Perform stakeholder testing on inflight development requests and report any software limitation or bugs found in the software (SmartPlant3D), file support ticket to the software vendor (SmartPlant3D Support Team – Intergraph/Hexagon)
  • Communicate to other teams for any impact to tools that are linked to Smart Plant 3D & assist in working out appropriate solutions

Qualifications

  • Experience in SmartPlant 3D administration
  • Experience in Pipe routing and Isometrics
  • Completion of admin and user training for SmartPlant 3D
  • Drawing and Isometrics setup/configuration
  • S3D API basic knowledge
  • Capable to create and customize naming rules
  • Relevant engineering and/or construction industry experience is preferred
  • Experience using and supporting MicroStation J, V8, or V8i
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with strong communication skills
  • Relevant engineering and/or construction industry experience with Smart3D
  • Fast Learner
  • Conceptual thinker and able to work with complex systems.

Base Compensation: $155,000/yr - $165,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
