• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and DevOps culture across the organization

You'll partner closely with the VP of Data Services and Domain Managers to:

• Build enterprise data pipelines processing 100B+ records across SAP, InEight, Primavera, and custom systems

• Implement open-source orchestration platforms (Dagster/Airflow) and lakehouse architecture (Iceberg tables)

• Deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers enabling secure AI agent access to enterprise data

• Scale infrastructure supporting 20,000+ predictive algorithms and real-time analytics

• Mentor and develop engineering talent while maintaining a culture of technical excellence

This position is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Azure cloud architecture, Python, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments.

District Overview

Kiewit Data Services' (KDS) mission is to make Kiewit the premier data-driven organization in our industry. We are building the Kiewit Intelligence Platform (KIP) — a four-layer data and AI platform that will enable us to scale revenue to $25B+ without linearly scaling headcount. KDS is a cross-functional organization combining data engineering, data science, platform architecture, and product management. Our core functions are Data Quality, Governance, Enablement, Analytics, and AI/ML. We believe in world-class engineering practices, open-source technologies, and the power of data to transform construction operations.
