Position Overview
Kiewit is undertaking a multi-year transformation to modernize how we plan, execute, and manage work across Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Corporate Services. This enterprise effort focuses on improving field execution, aligning systems and data, and delivering measurable business value through more intelligent, integrated operations.
We are seeking a strategy and communications expert to play a central role in shaping and coordinating this modernization—ensuring the strategy is clearly defined, cross-functionally aligned, and operationally executable across all major functions.
This role connects the dots between executive vision, field execution, and technology enablement—driving clarity, consistency, and coordination at every level of the organization. It blends strategic planning, initiative oversight, and high-impact communications to ensure the transformation delivers tangible results across the business.
The position reports to a senior transformation executive and partners closely with leaders across operations, technology, and corporate functions. A critical component of this role is the close partnership with Kiewit Corporate Communications, ensuring all messaging is aligned, cascaded effectively, and reinforced through company-wide communication channels.
Success in this transformation requires more than a strong strategy—it requires consistent execution, coordinated leadership, and organizational clarity. This role is responsible for aligning teams, driving momentum, and ensuring accountability across all modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Alignment
• Own and evolve the enterprise strategy blueprint in collaboration with executive sponsors and functional leads.
• Translate high-level priorities into clear workstreams, accountability structures, and measurable milestones.
• Serve as the primary point of synthesis—aligning transformation goals with operational realities and field input.
Communications & Narrative Development
• Partner closely with Corporate Communications to develop and deploy unified messaging across audiences and channels.
• Build and maintain a cohesive transformation narrative, from ELT briefings to district playbooks.
• Develop communications that clarify purpose, progress, and expectations for stakeholders at every level.
• Support executive visibility through board-level updates, leadership presentations, and strategic messaging.
Program Integration
• Partner with the PMO and capability owners to ensure coordination across initiatives and delivery tracks.
• Surface risks, constraints, or interdependencies that could impact transformation timelines or outcomes.
• Establish structured feedback loops from pilot efforts to guide future scaling decisions.
Field Engagement & Adoption
• Act as the connective tissue between enterprise strategy and district-level implementation.
• Design and execute engagement models that ensure districts have visibility, voice, and influence in shaping solutions.
• Partner with the PMO and change management teams to drive sustained adoption—especially in diverse and dynamic field environments.
Partner & Platform Coordination
• Collaborate closely with InEight and Shared Services to align roadmap priorities with operational needs.
• Serve as a key escalation point for platform integration, pilot learning, and go-to-market readiness.
• Balance internal IP protection with scalability and platform commercialization.
Qualifications
• 15+ years of experience in enterprise strategy, transformation leadership, or strategic communications.
• Strong understanding of construction operations, with credibility across both field and corporate environments.
• Proven ability to drive complex initiatives through structure, influence, and narrative clarity.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially for executive and cross-functional audiences.
• Demonstrated success navigating ambiguity, building trust, and delivering sustained outcomes at scale.
