We are actively searching for a Construction/Craft Recruiter to add to the team to support a major Power project in Provo Utah.  This is an integral role for an important, high profile project hiring 1000 craft/construction workers.  If you have a strong background in high volume construction/craft recruitment, self-motivated, and can creatively find, screen and hire great talent - we want to talk with you!   We are the best at what we do - come be a part of it!    

District Overview

In this role, you will be part of our HR Operations team, an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit.  In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence.  Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization. 

Location

This is a position to support a major power project, based out of Provo Utah.  If you are willing to relocate to that area, we will provide relocation assistance to the area.  

Responsibilities


•    Execute various sourcing strategies to attract top Craft talent and strategize with operational leaders on new ways to attract talent. 
•    Collaborate with Operations leaders to determine workforce planning needs and expectations, gaining advanced knowledge of current and future construction projects
•    Coaches hiring managers and estimators on supply and demand of Craft workforce 
•    Accountable for overall Craft recruiting effectiveness for your discipline
•    Source, screen, arrange interviews and compile offers.  Negotiate and bring offers to a close.  
•    Broad knowledge of union and nonunion Craft management practices
•    Train hiring managers on recruiting processes and proper utilization and management of requisitions and candidates within ATS
•    Maintains knowledge of employment laws to ensure compliance across the business
•    Proactively seeks outreach opportunities to develop pipeline
•    Develop and implement local recruiting strategies across the US as a whole
•    Conduct in depth research on wages, housing, and fringe benefits as needed
•    Represents Kiewit at associations, job fairs and other networking events to build relationships, promote the company to develop an understanding of the regional employment market.  
•    Able to travel as needed
•    Interested in doing Project Recruitment at constructions sites around the country for extended periods of time

 

Qualifications

•    3+ years of experience recruiting craft professionals in Construction: (Roles may have included:  certified and non-certified electricians, low to high voltage electrical power systems technicians, Substation line workers, Instrumentation and Electrical Craft, Maintenance Technicians, Electrical Foreman, Electrical/Power equipment operators, pipefitters, welders, field technicians, heavy equipment operators, to name a few)
•    Agility in sourcing strategies and ability to pivot as necessary to support new market areas 
•    Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and handle high volume recruitment
•    Human Resources knowledge such as EEOC, FLSA, diversity recruiting, interview best practices.  Knowledge of union and non-union craft management practices
•    Ability to work individually and in a team environment
•    Proven performance in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing deals
•    Exhibit Emotional Intelligence and emotional resiliency– Ability to manage emotions in positive ways to communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflicts
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Outstanding customer service and problem-solving skills
•    Experience with the latest sourcing techniques (LinkedIn, Indeed, social media, Boolean searches, and professional / networking groups) and ability to think out of the box to develop new strategies for attracting top talent
