Position Overview

We are adding a Supply Chain Contracts Specialist to our team, to support a large complex Infrastructure project in Portsmouth New Hampshire.  In this role, you will be involved in the complete life cycle of the supply chain, with heavy focus on developing/reviewing and negotiating contracts with suppliers for this project and doing cradle to grave procurement coordination including contracts management, for material, subcontract and service agreements.  You will be involved in supply chain contract activities for materials, equipment and/or services for the project from the RFP stage, through final delivery and contract closeout.  You will be the key point of contact for suppliers with regard to product quality, for your projects, and will be the liaison with supplier fabrication sites, project teams, engineering, procurement teams.

District Overview

Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining.  Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. Location

This position is based at a project site in Portsmouth New Hampshire.  This is not remote, nor is it hybrid but we will offer relocation to this location. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop contracts, using our Ineight ERP system for RFP process, review/finalize and negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.  Interface with legal and the project team to ensure our contracts with our suppliers meet our client and contractual standards and specifications.  Manage vendor contracts, change orders and facilitation of payments for the items/services you are handling for the project.  Responsible for all critical commercial supporting documentation for supply chain for your project.   
  • Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action and communicate with logistics team on scheduling for parts/equipment.
  • Leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to projects.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
  • Prepare/issue Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals to identify vendors/subcontractors who meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating, execution and site purchasing levels.
  • Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates. 
  • Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts for various projects.
  • Work to resolve escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues that may impact the schedule of the project.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships and manage supplier-specific vendor template negotiations.
  • Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related field with at least 2 years contracts related experience with contract management/negotiation for vendors/subcontractors.   We encourage military and veterans to apply.  If no degree, a minimum of 4 years in supply chain/contracts functions are required.  
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in construction, Engineering, industrial, or manufacturing related environment.  (If you have construction experience in a Field Engineering role where you are doing supply chain related functions, we encourage you to apply).
  • Minimum of 1 years' negotiation experience with suppliers, and experience reviewing and managing contracts OR prior experience working on a complex infrastructure construction site with interest in learning Supply Chain functions.  
  • A general understanding of procurement (managing the RFP process, contract management, procurement execution, estimating, expediting, and site purchasing) through experience in SC roles or through Construction projects is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) 
  • General knowledge of database utilization and SAP Experience a plus
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
