Position Overview

As an AP Specialist, you will provide high-quality support and outstanding customer service to the project. You’ll process vendor invoices with accuracy through our ERP software.   The role is situated in a collaborative environment – working closely with a small group of peers towards team goals. District Overview

Kiewit’s Eastern District specializes in challenging heavy civil construction projects throughout the Northeast, including the metropolitan areas of New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC.  We are leaders in bridge, transit, foundation, tunnel, and water/wastewater construction while specializing in cast-in-place concrete, structural steel erection, earthwork, pile driving, and caissons. Kiewit’s Eastern District also has a large amount of work in the energy/power sector in various northeast locations. With our experienced and dedicated employees, extensive resources and in-depth market knowledge, the Eastern District can handle projects of any size.

•    Manage the workflow of Subcontract invoices
•    Make sure that all required documents are eligible as per contract payment conditions prior to processing an invoice for payment
•    Communicate and resolve any invoice issues with the vendors, the procurement team and field handlers
•    Collaborate with home office compliance team to process the payment adequately
•    Submit monthly reports of contract invoice status to upper management
•    Enter invoice accrual during month end process 
•    Complete cost moves as necessary
•    Process Non-PO Invoices 
•    Follow processes, procedures and internal controls
•    Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement; collaborate with internal and external partners to increase efficiencies in the department
•    Reliable and consistent attendance


•    Working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
•    Experience in a professional work environment
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others
•    Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done

•    Ability to be flexible and adapt to new processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and excellence in A/P Processing
Preferred Qualifications
•    Some accounting knowledge
•    SAP background
•    Accounts Payable experience
