District Overview

Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects, we typically self-perform a large portion of the work. We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry with safety, quality, costs and schedule in mind.   We are currently staffing up for several projects in the region and already have a great backlog of work in the region.  We offer stability, versatility and longevity for your career.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist our professional surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, easement preparations and computing survey points.  Expect to work with Survey Managers and Field crew to develop grading, curb, drainage, paving and utility designs for roads & bridges construction projects, processing raw field data through Trimble Business Center software.  You will be expected to extract/gather data through GPS and other survey tools and QA/QC check your own work.  Work will be both in the office and in the field, working with other members of the survey team, field crews, project engineers and other important stakeholders on the projects.  Key Reponsibilities will include continuous review and modifications of submitted drawings for the project.  We expect you to have moderate or advanced understanding of survey processes and concepts and be highly experience in various software modeling programs.  Other responsibilities include downloading/uploading field data, technical production of maps and drawings using various software programs.

Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 (or similar software), processing survey computation, Data processing, GPS, boundary, surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, utility route surveys and construction staking.  Experience with Civil Construction projects is required. 
Prefer Trimble experience OR must have proficiency in 3D modeling, using Civil 3D and/or Microstation (Inroads)   
Basic knowledge of the latest computer operating systems, spreadsheets, and databases
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt

** Ability to travel and relocate as needed to other project sites in the region.  
Associate’s degree in drafting technology, engineering technology or related discipline strongly preferred
