Position Overview
As an Asphalt Plant Supervisor for Kiewit, you will support numerous roadway/paving projects across West Texas and provide supervisory and expert knowledge relating to asphalt material operations produced by a mobile plant to ensure that our materials meet client and project specification requirements.
District Overview
Kiewit's South-Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects where these materials could be used on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, underground utilities and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to engineering design.
Location
This position will travel with a mobile asphalt plant to support/supervise paving operations on roadway projects across West Texas and will most likely start in Pecos, TX. Project durations could range from 6 months – 1 year and this person would receive per diem allowance (as defined by project budgets) and qualify for the company’s turnaround policy, in addition to their base salary.
Responsibilities
- Supervise plant operations for a large mobile asphalt plant in support of roadway and paving construction projects.
- Supervise a team of Quality Control Techs performing testing of asphalt materials for conformance to client and project requirements.
- Provide reports, recommendations, and implement changes as needed for plant operations and labor needs to project management.
- Develop a thorough understanding of various plant operations and testing procedures for asphalt.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 years of experience working in a fast-paced asphalt and/or concrete production laboratory, or related plant, is required.
- At least 2 years of experience supervising teams and plant operations.
- The ability to travel to multiple project locations to support project operations in West Texas, per diem assistance will be provided.
- Working knowledge of construction industry.
- Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to work successfully both independently and as a team to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.#LI-AB3
