Position Overview

As a Locates Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the construction operations by performing underground utility locates, supporting and maintaining the ground disturbance program, assisting with identification of known and unknown utilities, liaising with local utility damage prevention inspectors, and helping the team with the development of record drawings.

District Overview

Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. They serve the construction and mining industries and operates in Eastern Canada.
 

Location

This role is based in Ottawa.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising and coordinating with locates companies
  • Ensuring all locates are valid
  • Coordinate with different disciplines and contractors
  • Maintain a database with locates, ensuring they are up to date
  • Act as the single point of contact for all locate requests for the project

Qualifications

  • Hard worker, approachable, personable and the ability to multi-task
  • Civil Technician Degree
  • Experience with Locates is an asset
  • Construction experience is an asset #LI-GH

•    Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
•    Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
•    May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
