Position Overview
As an Electrical Superintendent you will play a significant part in the success for Kiewit. You will function as a field supervisor and may have responsibility for multiple Foreman, and/or laborers/craft workers. You with be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specification, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish the execution of the work, either directly or through General Foreman or Foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architect/engineer, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.

District Overview
Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. They serve the construction and mining industries and operates in Eastern Canada.
Location
The initial assigned for this role is in Ottawa on our OLRT project.

Responsibilities
Field Coordinating:
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision. Plans consist of but are not limited to, site plans, electrical single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate with subcontractors and internal resources to successfully execute work.
- Order and schedule material deliveries.
- Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data.
- Confirm correct circuits have been installed in scope of work
- Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and trainings.
- Assist in the supervision of field operations.
Office Engineering:
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
- Assist project engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use.
- Assist in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested.
- Assist in schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by leadership.
- Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums.
- Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager.
- Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
Qualifications
- Experience with Streetlight, and Traffic signals is an asset.
- General electrical proficiency is a requirement.
- 3-5 years of construction field engineering experience.
- Experience working on electrical construction projects is a plus.
- Working knowledge of reading engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site.
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
