Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Infrastructure Construction Scheduler with 2–5 years of experience in the construction industry to support the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring that project timelines are realistic, achievable, and aligned with contractual and operational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of infrastructure construction processes, including civil works, utilities, transportation, and public works.

District Overview

Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. They serve the construction and mining industries and operates in Eastern Canada.

Location

This position is for the Ottawa LRT project.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules for infrastructure projects using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to gather input and update schedules regularly.
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays or risks; propose mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and resource loading to optimize project timelines.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contract milestones, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Support planning and forecasting activities across multiple infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of schedule changes and historical data for future reference.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in construction scheduling, preferably in infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, transit, utilities).
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction sequencing and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with public sector or government-funded infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with cost control, earned value management, and project budgeting.
  • Understanding of environmental and safety regulations related to infrastructure construction. #LI-GH
