Position Overview
This position will support HVAC operations for the Reactor Building, Radwaste Facility, Control and Service Building (Power Block), and associated interfaces. During the validation phase, the Superintendent will assist with construction planning and reviews, and in execution, will oversee supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities to ensure compliance with project contracts, budgets, and safety/quality standards.

Location
The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Oshawa and surrounding areas, or willing to relocate. This project does NOT offer a rotation/TDY schedule /travel, or relocation assistance.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead work planning and execution, including methods of construction, workforce levels, material needs, equipment rentals, and schedules.
- Ensure partnership alignment with alliance partners.
- Monitor and review plans and schedules, proactively identifying risks and issues.
- Utilize the project master schedule to develop detailed look-ahead schedules for General Foremen.
- Implement and enforce safety, quality, and human performance programs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and project procedures.
- Manage risk mitigation strategies and develop recovery plans when schedules or budgets are at risk.
- Oversee the productivity of trade labor and subcontractors, ensuring efficiency in materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure trade personnel complete necessary training in safety, quality assurance, equipment operation, and technical requirements.
- Support the creation of Construction Work Packages, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications, and budget.
- Engage with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors.
- Maintain compliance with QA programs and overall project quality.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular field tours to track progress and engage with site personnel.
- Perform site safety inspections.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Supervisory Duties:
- Approve timesheets, expense reports, vacation requests, and training requests within authority limits.
- Provide performance management, coaching, and career planning for direct reports.
- Ensure compliance with company and client conduct policies.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical construction with subcontractor supervision.
- 2+ years of experience in nuclear construction (preferred).
- Expertise in construction technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Understanding of Nuclear Safety Culture and Quality Assurance Programs in the nuclear industry.
