Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Pipe Field Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground piping systems in water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, fieldwork, and project management.

District Overview

Kiewit's Water Facilities South group is one of Kiewit's leading water/wastewater districts specializing in constructing water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, and desalination plants. Although we are headquartered in Dallas TX, with regional offices in Miami FL and Atlanta GA, we also pursue various projects stretching across the country. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the installation of underground piping systems for water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Perform field surveys and assessments to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications for underground piping systems.
  • Monitor and document project progress, including daily reports, photographs, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of existing underground piping systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field crews and subcontractors.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to underground piping and water/wastewater treatment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in underground piping systems, preferably in the water/wastewater treatment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials used in underground piping.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, hydraulic modeling software).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
