Position Overview

The Telematics Specialist is a Home Office position within the Equipment Group supporting Telematics needs across the company.

District Overview

Kiewit Equipment Services (KES) helps to ensure the profitability of Kiewit projects through the improved equipment utilization and mechanical reliability by delivering world-class equipment and service. 

Location

This position will be based out of our Omaha, NE office.

Responsibilities

•    Help manage, maintain, and enhance enterprise Telematics Program, which includes over 22,000 assets
•    Support monitoring Telematics reporting status and identifying stopped reporting assets
•    Maintain and develop process to troubleshoot issues and correct
•    Train employees on best practices for troubleshooting Telematics problems and maintaining Telematics reporting
•    Provide Telematics reporting KPIs to the company
•    Continuously assess telematics data and provide recommendations evaluating how to improve all aspects of fleet performance
•    Monitor and manage overall cost of the enterprise Telematics program
•    Opportunity to grow into additional responsibilities
        - Overseeing the overall vendor management and operational support for the telematics platform for the enterprise’s fleet
        - Partner with multiple departments and vendors to evaluate large data sets and identify opportunities to create reports and measures that drive process improvements and help optimize fleet operations
        - Evaluate and implement new telematic hardware, firmware, software and related cloud, data analysis and reporting applications 
        - Partner with the contract and legal departments to execute vendor contracts
        - Lead and partner with vendors and internal departments to identify and resolve escalated issues and/or promptly close gaps

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Informatics, Data Science, or related technical discipline or equivalent
•    Or, minimum of three years of relevant experience in a fleet management environment with telematics hardware, firmware, and software
•    Well-versed in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP experience would be beneficial
•    Experience in use of applicable data analysis tools (PowerBI, Excel, SQL, Tableau)
•    Good oral and written communication skills
•    Safety and Quality Focus
•    Equipment use and Maintenance Knowledge
•    Willingness to travel 
•    Willingness to work in both office and field environment
