Position Overview

The Technical Platform Owner for Data Platform serves as subject matter expert for various Data Engineering/BI & Analytics solutions currently being implemented by the Data Enablement teams and plays a critical role in the adoption/evolution of the Kiewit Data Platform.

Location

This position is hybrid and  will be based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. Omaha ,NE. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.  

Responsibilities

  • Develops and Reviews Data Engineering design patterns and mentors data engineers & BI Analysts working on various product area deliverables.
  • Administration and Ownership of data platforms used by the Data Enablement team.
  • Plays a crucial role Data Enablement Delivery and Development processes while staying compliant with KTG policies, standards and procedures.
  • Develops DevOps processes to efficiently deploy production code adhering to KTG standards / release windows.
  • Closely works with the data architecture teams in the adoption of future design patterns / platforms.
  • Plays an integral part of an agile delivery team comprising of product owners, project managers/scrum masters, cross functional IT teams including production support.
  • Participate in Code review sessions to ensure optimal bug free code is deployed to production.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of development experience building data pipelines using any or a combination of the following technologies - Informatica, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Python.
  • Experience implementing data engineering & BI solutions in a cloud data warehouse environment.
  • Strong SQL background.
  • Proven ability to understand complex business rules / processes and design/build data engineering solutions that provide excellent value.
  • Experience performance tuning data engineering solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to resolve problems in a professional manner.
  • Proven team player.
  • Passion to keep current and adapt to emerging technologies in the Data/BI & Analytics space.
