Position Overview

As a Talent Development Specialist for the Development Logistics team in Talent Development, you will be responsible for designated Corporate Training Program administration and coordination.

District Overview

HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit.  In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence.  Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization. 


This position is based out of our Kiewit Plaza at 1550 Mike Fahey Street in Omaha, NE, connected to Kiewit University - our very own state of the art facility providing Innovation, Learning and Leadership classes to Kiewit employees.  This is a business environment in a professional office setting.


Talent Navigator Knowledge and Continuous Improvement

  • Support modern learning technologies, platforms & analytics to increase quality and cost of training 
  • Understand and utilize Talent Navigator to execute processes to support the Annual Talent Management Cycle.
  • Identify and propose solutions to improve efficiencies and streamline processes.
  • Provide a high level of service to Talent Development organization and District employees.
  • Reporting & Analysis (KPIs/Impact)
  • Database Management
  • Core Success Factors Talent Navigator Ownership & Expertise
  • Regularly collaborate with other members of the team related to the roles and responsibilities above, and other areas of experience or expertise.

Nomination Process Execution

  • Provide applicable eligibility reports, self-nomination list and other necessary data support for nomination selection.
  • Receive and enter nominations in each nomination cycle.
  • Approve self- nominations in Talent Navigator as directed.


Talent Navigator Administration and Process Support (Rotational Responsibilities across the team)

  • Enter and maintain Annual Learning Calendar activities into Talent Navigator Learning, including but not limited to Corporate training & programs, as well as District/Project specific training.  
  • Responsible for learner enrollments, changes, and drops.
  • Accurately record learning completions including notes for any incomplete or partial completions.
  • Input facilitator assignments into necessary systems & applications for accurate tracking.
  • Create Survey Evaluations, Quizzes, and Exams in Talent Navigator as needed for learning events.
  • Enter any external learning events and completions as needed.
  • Monitor and report on pre-requisite and pre-work status of learners as needed to ensure success.
  • Upload Assessments into Talent Navigator (StrengthsFinder, 270, 360)
  • Update succession, Employee Rotations, and any other necessary talent data in Talent Navigator as assigned.


Training Communications and Employee Support

  • Provide support & collaborate within the broader Talent Development & 1HR department to gather the necessary information to include in Learner and Facilitator Communications
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality Learner and Facilitator Communications for Corporate Talent Development Learning events as assigned.
  • Provide timely, best in class end-user support within the scope of work.
  • Producer for virtual Led Instructor Training as assigned.


Record Management and Retention

  • Responsible for accurate and timely record management of Talent and Development data (including but not limited to Succession, Learning, Talent Pool)
  • Provide District and Regional Reporting as required utilizing company identified tools.
  • Maintain necessary rosters, agendas, files and other documents needed to support the Talent Navigator data according to the Record Management plan of department.


Performance Expectations (How will success in this role be measured)

  • Is well organized and timely with data input.
  • Follows outlined Talent and Development processes and is involved in improvement efforts.
  • Responds to and supports the needs of the Talent Development organization to accomplish established mission and annual business objectives.
  • Manages cost at or under budget.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visio) and SharePoint
  • Advanced skillset in Excel / data gathering/analysis tools preferred
  • Experience with computer software programs (ex. LMS, LXP, data visualization, etc.)
  • Power BI, Power Query, and SuccessFactors experience preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with using online meetings programs (i.e. Team) 
  • At least one to three years’ related education/training industry experience or a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, communications or related field 
  • Detail oriented, flexible and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor 
  • Significant intercultural skills and experience with diverse populations is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and escalate issues as needed
  • Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Team player, but also able to work independently to meet intense deadlines, goals and deliverables.
