Position Overview

Do you enjoy collaboration, learning, and contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced environment? In this HR co-op program, you’ll gain hands-on experience in Talent Development while building your HR capabilities and enhancing your business acumen. You’ll be actively involved in key functions that drive workforce growth, learning, and performance within our organization.

 

This internship offers you the chance to focus on Talent Development while also gaining exposure to Kiewit University and Learning & Development initiatives. You’ll work closely with HR leaders, including our Center of Excellence (COE) teams, HR Business Partners, and HR Directors, learning from experienced professionals who are invested in your growth.

District Overview


HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit.  In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence.  Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.

This position will be based in Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to be involved with: 
•    Talent Development
•    Kiewit University
•    Learning and Development

Responsibilities could include: 
•    Collaborate with HR teas and employees to support Talent Development initiatives.
•    Assist in ensuring Talent Management processes are executed consistently, promoting alignment with organizational standards and goals.
•    Contribute to the execution of performance management programs by supporting project timelines, feedback processes, and district development plans.

Qualifications

•    Currently attending a 4yr accredited university/college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent required, or if you are a post baccalaureate student currently pursuing your Master’s degree.
•    Prior internship experience in the HR field preferred
•    Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
•    Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
•    Use of data and analytics when problem solving and influencing
•    Strong work ethic, agility and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
•    Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
•    Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
•    Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
•    Prior extracurricular activities (intramurals, Greek system, volunteering).

  • Regular, reliable attendance

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
