Position Overview
The Systems Administrator will be a technical resource with a focus on the administration of data center and cloud technologies and standards for our organization.   The primary responsibility of this position is the daily administration of server, storage, backup, and associated IT infrastructure.  This position will also contribute towards the development, implementation, and maintenance of new infrastructure and management technologies and processes.  This may include the development of new tools, code, or implementation of technologies where appropriate.  This position will report to the Platform Operations Supervisor within the Kiewit Technology Group.  The Platform Operations team supports all IT compute and storage infrastructure, both within physical company data centers as well as in various cloud providers.

Responsibilities
• Ability to design, implement, and maintain Enterprise-level server, MS Active Directory, and management systems (i.e. SCCM, SCOM, AD, ADFS, VMware, etc.).
• Working knowledge of network infrastructure in relationship to server infrastructure.
• Ability to identify capacity and performance needs for server infrastructure (compute, memory and disk).
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.   
• Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware platform and management tools.  Understanding of containers and container management technologies preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage IT-related initiatives including long-duration projects across multiple groups.
• Experience with configuration management tools, specifically Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins, and source control tools such as Git.
• Experience working with modern RESTful web services and frameworks.
• Working knowledge of modern scripting/automation languages, such as Python, Ruby, and PowerShell.
• Ability to provide customer-focused technical support to other teams within Information Management and our business partners as needed.
• Ability to maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, trouble tickets, network configurations, hardware/software inventory, and audit requests.
• Create and maintain technical and procedural standards documentation.
• Represent the Server team as a lead resource on corporate project teams and advisory boards.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer related field such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
• 3-5 years related work experience required in Information Technology
• 1-3 years related work experience required in system administration or software development.
• History of using open source tools to solve problems. Either early on or at scale
• Familiarity in working with APIs
• Experience collecting and using data to build compelling or engaging visuals
• Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Must be able to provide guidance and feedback to help an employee or groups of employees strengthen their knowledge, skills and abilities to accomplish a task or solve a problem
• Must have the ability to write technical information in a clear and concise manner and to be able to convey information appropriately for a variety of audiences
• Must be highly motivated, self-starting and self-directed with the ability to multi-task, work independently and as a part of multiple teams
• Knowledge of the system development life cycle and configuration management
• Ability to work off-hours when required and be part of an on-call rotation.
