Position Overview
Kiewit Technology Group (KTG) is looking for a Sr Manager, Architecture to join our team and collaboratively define and implement technical roadmaps, capabilities, and solutions for the enterprise.
The Sr Manager, Architecture provides a strategic vision for aligning the technical roadmap, services, and solutions with Kiewit’s business requirements. This position involves building and leading a team responsible for evaluating, selecting, and implementing technology solutions inclusive of related standards and patterns for approved and optimal utilization.
The Sr Manager, Architecture is well versed in current and emerging technologies that support custom development, data services, and traditional IT services in a secure fashion and has a proven track record of partnering with those teams to continually adopt and adapt technologies to optimally enable them to meet stated operational availability, risk, and cost mitigation expectations

Location
This position is a full time in-office role. The candidate hired for this role will report onsite daily to 12312 Port Grace Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Build and manage a high-performing team of technical architects fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Emerging and Existing Technology Stack:
- Enable and support custom development team efforts within existing development libraries, languages, and frameworks (e.g. React, .NET, Python, and Django)
- Evaluate, select, and implement or evolve technical and data (inclusive of ML/AI) solutions on preferred technical platforms for automated and standard deployment (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, and associated ecosystems).
- Define, implement, and evolve architecture standards and best practices, ensuring adherence to established guidelines across all projects.
- Lead the efforts in the evaluation of current and proposed technology solutions and ensure collaboration with affected teams.·
- Guide Pattern Development:
- Lead the development of strategies, standards, and patterns regarding technology-centered development and data processes.
- Governance and Compliance:
- Enforce policies and standards programmatically within technical platforms and solutions, ensuring compliance with security requirements, privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including all engineering, operations, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in software development, information technology, or architecture roles.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior architectural or technical leadership role managing a team of technical architects or similar technical professionals.
- Experience with modern cloud compute and data platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred).
- Experience with modern data warehouse concepts and tools (Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, Databricks).
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD, and DevOps/DataOps practices.
- A track record and proven experience in leading large-scale enterprise transformations involving new and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to mentor less experienced members of the team, other peers, and leaders within the organization to mature technical solutioning.
- Excellent decision-making, risk-taking, and critical thinking skills for problem identification and solution recommendation.
- Exceptional listening skills, ability to learn quickly, a client-focused mindset, highly organized, excellent time management skills, and demonstrated accountability for company and individual success.
- Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and effectively present complex technical concepts.
