Position Overview

As a Risk Management Specialist in the Risk Management & Insurance team, you will support Department personnel and assist with various duties associated with Kiewit’s corporate insurance program. You’ll also provide property and casualty claim support.  You’ll typically have a wide-ranging division of responsibilities, which include interactions with other Kiewit Home Office departments, and other professional organizations.

Location

This position is based out of Kiewit's headquarters at 1550 Mike Fahey Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • As directed by Director, Risk Management & Insurance, Senior Risk Managers or Risk Managers to assist and support various duties associated with Kiewit’s corporate insurance program.
  • Provide multi-line claims administration support.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS)
    • Facilitate claim set up, coding, and transmission to third party administrators
    • Review and reconcile claim data feeds
    • Set up and distribute various claim reports throughout the year for management and other parties
  • Coordinate Third Party Administrator (TPA) functions 
    • Verify and coordinate claim payments
    • Code claim payments to appropriate accounts
    • Facilitate wire transfers / reimbursements / Accounting Dept. reconciliation
  • Oversee workers’ compensation self-insured qualifications and responsibilities
    • Quarterly and annual reporting
  • Participate in training programs for field users of claims reporting and management systems
     

Qualifications

  • BS/BA Undergraduate Degree in business, risk management and insurance, or related field, or three to five years of equivalent property / casualty insurance claims experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently and communicate risks or potential problems to manager
  • Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
