Responsibilities
• Manage execution and effectiveness of the project quality program.
• Understand, implement, and train personnel on the company Quality Management System.
• Examine, test and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed.
• Report and document Non-Conformances when they occur. Assist in ensuring rework is tracked and reported.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the Projects Quality Management System, Work Instructions and Procedures.
• Develop complete understanding of contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Maintain project quality records, documentation and files.
• When required, develop written plans and procedures for project specific activities
• Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing and through periodic meetings) with, project management teams, and the engineer/client.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of the project scope, schedule, inspection, testing, and quality documentation requirements.
• Be involved in and provide inspection and testing input to work planning.
• Plan and perform inspections and tests on the project Facilitate and champion self-inspection by supervision and craft/trades.
• Identify, train, mentor and supervise project quality inspection personnel developing future quality leaders.
• Provide training on inspection and testing techniques for all project personnel. Participate in Corporate and District Training initiatives and programs as requested.
• Provide training to supervision and crafts regarding the project specific quality process and requirements as requested.
• Coordinate system turnover activities with startup/commissioning teams and assist in assembling turnover packages.
• Provide input on continuous improvement of District’s quality program.
• Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
•Bachelors’ or Technical Degree in Engineering, Science or similar with at least four years’ experience in a related construction field (with at least two of these years in a quality position)
• Working knowledge of the related construction industry codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements (ACI, AWS, ASME, NEC, etc.).
• Certifications from AWS, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, etc. are preferred.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate team information and be professional.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated with strong organization/time management skills and the desire to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
