As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for job site management and oversee the administrative and technical aspects of construction projects.

District Overview

The Underground District has been constructing underground facilities (tunneling, deep foundations) since 1949, and has completed more than 100 underground-related projects totaling more than $1B.  Looking for hands-on, engineers excited to be both in the field and office supporting project and estimating work.

Location:Kiewit Underground District has its headquarters in Omaha, NE and operates across North America with current projects in Nebraska, South Dakota, New York, and Chicago. We require our employees to be open to relocation or temporary job assignments throughout this region

Responsibilities

•    Develop complete understanding of contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
•    Prepare, revise and communicate standards, procedures and policies.
•    Manage and oversee field projects, ensure implementation and effectiveness, document findings and take corrective action as needed.
•    Observe functioning of operational equipment or systems to determine need for adjustments and identify any safety hazards, taking all necessary corrective actions to eliminate or minimize hazards.
•    Strong communication skills to conduct effective meetings with the client, prime contractor, suppliers, vendors, unions, and job team
•    Strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively lead job teams

Qualifications

•    Seven or more years’ relevant experience in the underground/tunneling industry with conventional or TBM tunneling operations.
•    Must be willing and able to relocate temporarily or for a longer-term period to project sites as needed. 
•    Current experience in the underground/tunneling industry as a Project Manager - preferred
