Position Summary
Do you get excited about strategically planning how a technical tool can enable a business process?  Do you often think of creative solutions to a business problem?  If so, then our team is looking for you.  We would like someone who is excited to learn about new Payroll/Time Collection Technologies, and who likes to build collaborative relationships with both vendors and business stakeholders. The Payroll Product Owner role at Kiewit will give you an opportunity to build our strategic product roadmaps, become an expert in Payroll technology and become a valuable asset to executing Kiewit’s Payroll initiatives.  You will have the opportunity to make product decisions, influence others, and work on the cutting edge of both Payroll and Technology. This position will report to the Payroll Product Manager.  Primary responsibility will be to enable all Payroll business goals through enterprise technology.

•    Assists with the developing the product feature concepts
•    Assists Product Managers with managing the quarterly functional area steering committee meetings and cross district product planning, where applicable
•    Collaborates and coordinates with other Product Managers and business analysts to map out end-to-end business and product processes
•    Assists Product Managers in facilitating requirements gathering workshops to align on end-to-end business process mapping and product requirements
•    Assists other less experienced Business Analysts in training and work quality validations
•    Research and synthesize concepts for effective planning, training, and change management
•    Responsible for aligning with the Product Managers on product roadmap and supporting budget needs
•    Provides key project scope decisions
•    Executes Project Initiation by writing and submitting the Business Case
•    Documents detailed Business Requirements Document and document time and payroll business process flow
•    Obtains business approval on requirements from key business decision makers
•    Defines project success criteria
•    Assists Project Management with identifying project stakeholders and communication plan
•    Assists with positive test case creation where needed
•    Participates in design clarification, design reviews, and test planning discussions as needed
•    Facilitates with end-to-end integration, regression, and performance test planning and data prep work
•    Obtains/provides business approval on test plan and test cases
•    Participates in end-to-end integration, regression, performance and UAT test execution
•    Coordinates business testers and/or performs User Acceptance Testing and provides or obtains final UAT approval sign off
•    Create/Update end user training materials
•    Assist with deployment and cutover plan
•    Assist with go-live cutover rehearsal where applicable
•    Assists with product change management (i.e.  Training, Communications, etc.)
•    Assists with defining and measuring key product adoption metrics 
•    Understands business intelligence and reporting needs to support business process and product improvements
•    Performs post go-live production validation
•    Obtains feedback on deployment from end user base
•    Assists with prioritizing production support incidents with Hypercare incidents
•    Performs knowledge transition from project team to production support and deployment teams
•    Provides escalated Business Analyst level production support on-going as needed

•    3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Enterprise Business Analyst, Support Analyst, or other relevant analyst role
•    3+ years of payroll experience
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to synthesize and articulate complex concepts targeted at multiple audiences
•    Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
•    Organizational skill to manage multiple projects at once with accuracy
•    Self-Starter
•    Detail oriented
•    Willingness to travel approximately 10%-15%

Bonus Points
•    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, or relevant discipline
•    Experience in the engineering and construction industry, and/or equivalent domain experience relevant to the product 
•    Previous experience working with Payroll solutions, and SAP HCM
•    Experience with MS Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), HP ALM, Aha!, ServiceNow, and portfolio and project management (PPM) tools
•    Experience with agile and waterfall software development practices
•    Functional experience in Payroll and Time business processes
•    Experience dealing with union collective bargaining agreements
