Position Overview

The Product Manager is responsible for directly managing a team of Product Owners and Business/Systems Analysts as well as providing leadership to a cross discipline product line team while driving strategy and overall success of a portfolio of products that support content management, collaboration, and communication are critical aspects of this role.  Product Managers are the voice of the customer within the Kiewit Technology Group ensuring that each product they are responsible for has a defined vision, roadmap and is managed well throughout its entire lifecycle.  They work to ensure that there is a solid business justification for all product decisions and that value, quality and customer experience are always at front of mind.

District Overview

Kiewit Technology Group’s (KTG) mission is to deliver project schedule and cost certainty by employing technology designed by and for the construction industry. Our team deploys apps to the field that increase profitability by maximizing the way we use our people and resources in daily operations. KTG uses the Kiewit Management System (KMS), which includes systems and tools that manage every part of Kiewit’s business and lifecycle of a project, to improve planning and day-to-day execution in the field by giving our people real-time data to make faster, smarter decisions. This position will be based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.  


Roadmap & Requirements

  • In conjunction with each Product Owner, gather input from users and stakeholders and synthesize into clear product requirements that drive business value.
  • In conjunction with each Product Owner, review, prioritize and plan the roadmap of features.
  • Define and drive the long-term product roadmap.
  • Align products and services with the overall product portfolio vision.
  • In conjunction with each Product Owner, for third-party products, communicate, prioritize and drive the completion of features.
  • In conjunction with each Product Owner, develop and execute a decommissioning strategy for products that have become a legacy solution or are no longer enterprise supported.



  • Serve as a manager to multiple Product Owners and Business/Systems Analysts.
  • Provide leadership over an entire portfolio of product(s) or service(s), representing the voice of the customer during the entire product development lifecycle.
  • In conjunction with the Product Owner, partner and gain buy-in of processes from stakeholders and users to create better cohesion and clear communication throughout the organization.
  • In conjunction with the Product Owner, conduct product stakeholder meetings to determine product direction based on business strategy and priorities.
  • In conjunction with the Product Owner, set and maintain deliverable and timeline expectations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive customer adoption, business value understanding, and organizational readiness to ensure successful launch of product releases.
  • Provide guidance and drive cross-functional initiatives & alignment with business, technology, and other product areas.
  • Drive product quality by verifying satisfactory testing results and ensure documentation/training is provided to technical and business support groups prior to release.
  • Communicate development goals, constructive feedback, and future opportunities clearly and completely in conversations with all team members.
  • Challenge, motivate, and lead team members toward a common goal, while providing honest feedback along the way.
  • Display first-rate customer service skills – willing to help with a positive attitude when/where needed.
  • Inject a sense of urgency into the product team – pushing for timely delivery of quality solutions.
  • Work with Product Owners to manage product line team resource allocation.


Strategy & Vision

  • Understand the industry, trends in the industry, and our technology solution’s position in the industry and market.
  • Seek out and continue learning about new and emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies that may assist in streamlining work and improving productivity.
  • Use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses, the costs and benefits, and the short- and long-term consequences of different solution approaches.
  • Lead in the creation of the product vision with the stakeholders involved in the process, such as Product Owners, Developers, Testers, UX/UI Designers, Analysts, Subject Matter Experts.


Cost Management

  • Understand the total cost-of-ownership for a product and/or sub-product. Align understanding with roadmap vision and the vision of the entire portfolio. 
  • Understand the cost/licensing models for third-party products and work to achieve the most cost-effective solutions for Kiewit, weighing all options and benefits.
  • Manage to a team budget and appropriately forecast spend.
  • Manage technology contracts and cost.


  • 8 years’ experience in an Information Technology role
  • 4 years’ experience directly managing others
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 suite of tools, including but not limited to SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, OneDrive, Stream and Power Automate
  • Demonstrated success at defining business needs, conducting vendor analysis and launching successful products.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and have critical conversations with customers and stakeholders regarding business value and customer experience while maintaining solid professional relationships
  • Ability to motivate and coach individuals to develop their skills enabling them to perform at their best and contribute to the success of the team
  • Understanding of and experience with software development life cycles (Agile, Waterfall, etc)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present information both to technical and non-technical customers/stakeholders, in appropriate media and form
  • Ability to solve complex technical, managerial and/or operational problems and elevate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience and knowledge
  • Demonstrated initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards
  • Ability to recognize, assess, and mitigate risks to committed deliverables and timelines
  • Able to clearly communicate progress and risk to all levels of leadership
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
  • Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Progressive experience in team leadership/supervision

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology discipline
  • Advanced expertise in the Microsoft 365 suite of tools, including but not limited to SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, OneDrive, Stream, Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a technology setting
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and/or Product Manager Certifications
  • Experience with agile and waterfall software development practices
  • Microsoft 365 Certifications
