Position Overview

The Microsoft 365 Platform Administrator is responsible for guiding the technology strategy of a portfolio Microsoft 365 products.  The Platform Administrator may own certain aspects of the product suite but will most importantly serve as a valued technology specialist and subject matter expert able to consult on the more technical aspects of a variety of initiatives.  This position is an individual contributor role that reports directly to the Product Manager responsible for Kiewit’s enterprise collaboration platforms.

This position will be based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street Omaha, NE. This position offers a hybrid work schedule. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.


  • Assess the current state of the M365 environment and provide guidance to our organization to reach and maintain an ideal state of proactive platform management.
  • Work in conjunction with Kiewit Technology Group’s architecture team to align the M365 suite to existing strategic technology roadmaps and standards.
  • In conjunction with the Product Owners, gather input from users and stakeholders and synthesize into clear product requirements that drive business value.
  • Provide technical guidance for the M365 suite of products
  • Provide guidance and drive cross-functional initiatives & alignment with business, technology, and other product areas.
  • Assist in development standards and operating procedures for utilizing the M365 suite of tools.
  • Understand the Microsoft, trends in the Suite of Microsoft products, and our technology solution’s position in relation to the Microsoft product vision and roadmap.
  • Understand technical platform requirements (predecessors and dependencies) to help with roadmap planning and avoid technical roadblocks
  • Understand the cost/licensing models for M365 products and work to achieve the most cost-effective solutions for Kiewit, weighing all options and benefits.


  • 2-5 years’ experience in an Information Technology role
  • Demonstrated experience as a cloud platform/Microsoft platform administrator
  • Intermediate to advanced technical expertise in the Microsoft 365 suite of tools, including but not limited to SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, OneDrive, Stream, Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Intermediate to advanced ability in scripting and automation of tasks in the M365 platform to simplify administration and create efficiencies.
  • Understanding of Platform and Information Governance concepts
  • Understanding of M365 architectural principles
  • Understanding of and experience with the software development life cycle
  • Demonstrated ability clearly communicate information to Product Owners to assist in translation of technical concepts and benefits for the purpose of informing stakeholders and executing an effective change management plan.
  • Ability to solve complex technical, and/or operational problems and elevate options based on relevant information, resources, and well-rounded experience and knowledge
  • Ability to implement planned changes to the M365 Platform according to established platform plans and roadmaps.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology discipline
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of the Power Platform and administration practices
  • Microsoft 365 Certifications
