Position Overview

The Manager of ERP Data Program’s primary responsibility is to oversee, manage, and deliver on all projects with the Data Workstream of our ERP Prep and ERP Implementation program.

 Some of the programs that are defined under this role include ERP Master Data Management, ERP Meta Data Management, ERP Transactional Data Governance, ERP Data Conversions, Data Assessment Between New and Legacy ERP, Data Archiving, and the Reporting and Analytical Updates for the new ERP. This is not an exhaustive list. Based on the skills, experience, and expertise of the candidate, further engagement in additional ERP related projects and activities will also be with the scope of this role.

This role will work closely with the ERP Director, the ERP Program Manager, ERP Architects, ERP Technical Leads, ERP Functional Leads, and key Business Units and Stakeholders throughout all phases of the various data work streams, including scope definition, discovery and collection of business requirements, data cleansing, acceptance testing/validation and final validation/sign-off, to ensure quality and integrity in process and deliverables, and timely delivery of scheduled tasks. 

This role will develop and manage the execution of data strategies focused on the next ERP and will coordinate and collaborate with the Data Architecture team to ensure the ERP related detailed data strategy efforts conjoin effectively with the overall Kiewit data strategy work.

This role will evolve over the course of the ERP Program, as the ERP program progresses, and the scope of the various projects become more clearly defined.

Location

This position will be based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. Omaha, NE. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.  

Responsibilities

  • Work with ERP Team Leadership business stakeholders to define conversion scope
  • Consult business stakeholders and functional team members to understand business and system rules that carry implications for data migration decisions and strategy
  • Analyze legacy data structures and data to develop data conversion requirements
  • Document and perform source to target field mapping
  • Identify, recommend and apply logic to transform data from source format to target specification in preparation for load
  • Identify tools (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access, custom programs, etc.) to perform field mapping, data transformation and default value assignment, all of which are part and parcel in preparation of the conversion load file
  • Define and communicate requirements for extraction and layout of source data
  • Build MS Excel templates for data collection
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify data cleansing needs; develop and oversee data cleansing strategy
  • Keep data secure and confidential
  • Establish a validation strategy, work with business stakeholders to secure data validation resources, and guide those resources in implementing the strategy
  • Perform preliminary validations to ensure completeness and data integrity
  • Review error reports, troubleshoot and determine corrective action
  • Compile requirements for development of custom conversion and load program(s), and test delivered solution(s) according to conversion specifications
  • Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during the conversion process
  • Work in conjunction with outside vendors and consulting services, as required

Qualifications

  • Core competencies include the demonstrated ability to:

  • Must be proficient with MS Excel and MS Word, or equivalent(s).
  • Experience with database design and development, including proficiency with MS Access and/or SQL Server, is preferred.
  • One or more year(s) experience with systems architecture, systems development and/or data architecture is highly desirable.
  • One or more year(s) experience performing data conversion is preferred.
  • One or more year(s) experience with SAP, that includes one or more of the following, is preferred: data conversion, system development, system configuration, reporting and analysis, or other role that provides familiarity with the data structures and objects pertaining to one or more SAP modules
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Management or Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with S4 HANA migration projects is strongly preferred.  Will consider with other ERP migration project experience
