Position Overview

As the Document Imaging Specialist, you will support and provide quality control for Kiewit’s Digital Transformation Initiative.  You will be responsible for scanning documents, importing, indexing, re-indexing and uploading indexed documents to the records repository.

District Overview

Kiewit Data Services’ (KDS) mission is to make Kiewit the premier data-driven organization in our industry. To accomplish this, our projects and districts need to have the right data, of the right quality, with the right level of analysis, available to them at the right time. KDS is a cross functional organization with employees that have expertise in data, technology, support and operations backgrounds. Our core functions are data Quality, Governance, Enablement, Analytics and Data Science. 

Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. 

Responsibilities

•    Scans, digitizes, and indexes Kiewit files as directed by the Imaging specification provided. 
•    Proficient in all departments, imaging equipment, and imaging software.
•    Prepares documents, files, and books for imaging. Checks proper order and completeness as instructed, creating targets needed for proper and consistent records identification. 
•    Quality control checks of imaged material prior to commitment to the records repository. 
•    Preps documents for scan, Quality Control, Final Check overview, re-assembly of documents, while being productive with scanning level outputs.  
•    Handles information of a confidential and sensitive nature and must comply with Kiewit departmental policies to ensure confidentiality.
•    Maintains accurate logs of all items imaged. Provides reports to Manager as needed.
•    Maintains efficient and effective scanning operations and performance related to quality control, scanning output and equipment performance.
•    Assists with trainings and updates to imaging policies and procedures as necessary. 
•    Maintains an ongoing cataloging and/or indexing job; possesses an understanding of the department’s cataloging and records management software. 
•    Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend additional training.
•    Acts within scope of authority and consistent with Kiewit company objectives, guidelines, policies, and practices 
•    Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in fields of expertise 
•    Responds to inquiries in a courteous manner; provides information within the scope of knowledge, or refers to an employee of higher classification 
•    Responds to internal/external customers in a timely manner 
•    Performs other duties and projects as assigned 
•    Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
•    Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Kiewit.

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or GED 
•    Demonstrated ability to operate a Windows PC
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office
•    Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
•    Ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks 
•    Must possess excellent attention to detail
•    Ability to lift individual files or boxes weighing 25 pounds to 35 pounds
•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills  
•    Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail 
•    Must be able to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints 
•    Analytical thinking ability, diplomacy, and professionalism are required 
•    Ability to maintain good working relationships with management and other employees 
•    May require some occasional weekend work 
•    Experience with scanning software such as Abbyy or Kofax is a plus
