Position Overview
As a District Electrical Manager, you will play a significant part in the success of our Underground District by directly managing the proper use and installation of our temporary electrical equipment. You will interface and develop Electrical Superintendents setting high expectations among their crew(s) for safety, quality, schedule, cost performance and team development. Every day you will bring your hands-on attitude to not only work on some of North Americas largest and unique projects but to also build builders who will continue to shape our infrastructure for generations to come. An ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical electrical systems. District Overview
The Underground District has been constructing underground facilities (tunneling, deep foundations) since 1949, and has completed more than 100 underground-related projects totaling more than $1B. Looking for hands-on, engineers excited to be both in the field and office supporting project and estimating work.
Location
This position is based out of Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities
- Develop temporary electrical system designs compliant with NEC requirements
- Oversee the design, fabrication and testing of temporary electrical distributions for use on our projects
- Prepare detailed material and labor cost estimates of temporary electrical systems and prepare electrical power consumption estimates
- Coordinate electrical power requirements with electrical power suppliers pre and post bid.
- Develop, manage and trend project cost budgets associated with temporary electrical installation and consumption
- Support project electrical personnel
- Perform periodic assessments of project temporary electrical systems for compliance with company and NEC standards
- Manage electrical equipment and assets of the district to help ensure their longevity and utilization
- Co-ordinate the training, development and growth of our temporary electrical team
- Travel to projects to support project design, installation and proper testing associated with our temporary electrical systems
- Develop, maintain strategic relations with key electrical suppliers and subcontractors
Qualifications
- 10 years’ experience as an electrical superintendent supervising crews of 10 or more electricians
- Experience working Underground and on Underground projects is required
- 10 years’ experience designing 3 phase temporary electrical distributions for underground and mining applications
- 5 years’ experience in mining and tunneling electrical systems
- 10 years’ experience maintaining and programing PLC and DDC control systems
- 10 years’ experience with installation of 13 kV temporary electrical distribution equipment
- Ability to travel 20%-30% across North America
- Management of union labor a plus
- Prepared to attend meetings with customers and owners/general contractors
- Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills
- Adapt to new surroundings and new people
- Must be able to access all points of a construction site
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with the use of Microsoft Office Products
