District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs, and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and focused on safety.
Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company, sharing experiences, innovative concepts, and best practices.

Location
This position is based in our Omaha, NE office.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL to ingest, transform, and load data into Azure SQL and other cloud platforms.
• Integrate data from APIs and external sources, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
• Automate data workflows and processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and optimize data models.
• Monitor data workflows and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous availability and performance.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across systems while improving performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver robust technical solutions.
• Research emerging technologies, patterns, and tools to keep Kiewit at the forefront of data engineering and cloud innovation.
• Document processes, maintain version control, and contribute to continuous improvement of ETL frameworks and data architecture.
Qualifications
• BS degree required
• 1+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or related field
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and integrate across groups and work streams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for learning and taking initiative
• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Technical Skills
• Python for:
o Connecting to APIs and ingesting data
o Automating data workflows and processes
o Exposure to AI/ML tools and concepts (preferred)
• SQL for querying and managing relational databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Snowflake)
• Understanding of ETL processes and data lineage concepts
• Knowledge of data modeling using tools like Power BI
• (Preferred) Experience with Azure DevOps and Git-based repositories for version control
