Position Overview

We are adding an Operations Compliance Specialist to our Compliance Department to support the Regional Compliance Managers in daily activities.  Daily responsibilities include project and District regulatory risk identification through the creation of individual mitigation action plans, assessments, task creation and continual improvement of the Operations Compliance Program. This person will identify and respond to regulatory compliance risks and/or concerns, develop, implement, and document improvements to address and mitigate risk. Key regulatory areas include, but not limited to, antitrust laws, prevailing wage / Davis Bacon and Related Acts, FAR clauses, DOT regulations, OSHA and ATF. The ideal candidate would have field experience, learn Kiewit’s unique structure, and have experience working with various levels of management at the corporate, shared services and field operational levels. This position collaborates closely with numerous individuals and levels throughout the Company to promote a risk management culture, assist in understanding regulatory requirements, and consistently communicate regulatory risks to varying levels of management and stakeholders. Experience with risk assessments and audit methodologies, control activities and mitigation strategies are highly valued.

Relocation assistance is available for candidates outside of the region. This position has the potential to relocate to a district as their Compliance career progresses. 

Responsibilities


•    Work with the Regional Compliance Managers (RCMs) during ongoing project compliance reviews, including the project startup process, training, compliance findings and remediation processes
•    Create mitigation action plans (MAP) alongside the RCMs to reduce regulatory risks at the project/operational level, including Federal contracting, antitrust laws, prevailing wage, Buy America/Buy American, drones, explosives, etc.
•    Perform pre-MAP startup checklists, project assessments and project close outs 
•    Assist in identifying best practices and lessons learned for continued improvement of the operations compliance program 
•    Promote and support the Company’s Core Values 
•    Work with business partners to improve the operational program 
•    Support the Compliance Director in special projects as assigned for operational or corporate compliance 
•    Operate in the InEight tool for Compliance on a regular basis 
•    Stay current on industry trends, relevant compliance requirements, and best practices by attending conferences, networking, and other educational opportunities 

Qualifications

•    3+ years of field experience with exposure to regulatory compliance topics; familiarity with the construction and engineering industry preferred 
•    Demonstrate a high level of communication and time management skills while coordinating with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels of management.
•    Ability to work independently and think analytically with minimal oversight. 
•    Utilize critical thinking to offer practical solutions to business partners, districts, and project teams, as well as the overall Compliance Program
