Position Overview
We are looking for a talented communication coordinator to help drive the communication strategy for Kiewit Foundations Company based in Omaha, Nebraska. Kiewit Foundations has four decades of specialty foundations experience and delivers innovative and cost-effective solutions through diverse methodologies and a massive, modern equipment fleet. This team supports various projects, clients and operating groups throughout Kiewit Corporation.

District Overview
Kiewit Foundations Co. is a full-service geotechnical foundation contractor operating across North America. Our experience and expertise cover a wide range of specialty foundation construction for both structural and ground improvement solutions. We operate in the transportation, power, water/wastewater, mining, building, industrial, and oil, gas, and chemical markets. As part of Kiewit we are integrated with 135 years of construction and engineering experience that provides wholistic solutions to the industry that are unmatched.
Location
This position is based out of Kiewit's headquarters at 1550 Mike Fahey Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.
Responsibilities
• Be a self-starter and team player that is driven to meet deadlines
• Tap into your writing and editing skills to help drive messaging and information that support’ Kiewit Foundations’ business goals
• Tap into your people skills to support human resources and Foundations’ people goals
• Have a passion for developing and executing the team’s internal communication plan to engage Foundations’ employees – many of whom work on projects across North America
• Make sure Kiewit Foundations achieves its goals through a variety of communication channels:
o Newsletters, flyers, meeting presentations, team bios, organizational charts and more
o Internal announcements
o Articles to promote Kiewit Foundations initiatives and successes to employees
o Collateral to support important senior leadership meetings and town halls
o The Kiewit Foundations community on Yammer, the company’s internal social media tool
o Update the Kiewit Foundations SharePoint site
• Wisely and creatively use social media (with corporate guidance) to reach external stakeholders for Kiewit Foundations
• Coordinate and plan internal and external events
• Maintain close alignment with Kiewit’s Corporate Communication team (the folks that do employee communications, PR, government affairs, branding and other stuff), so you’ll always be thinking about ways you can get information to the right people at the right time in the right ways
• Help showcase Kiewit’s brand and all the great things that come with it
• Have fun at the office (and on the road, possibly 15% of the time) with your co-workers
Qualifications
• One or two years of communication experience (writing skills are crucial)
• A bachelor's degree that makes sense for the job (a degree in journalism, communication or related field preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, and other related tools
• A strong interest and some useful experience in graphic design, photography or video production
• A mindset that is all about learning, improving and adapting on the fly
• Some proof you can more than capably manage (sometimes juggle) multiple projects at one time
• To enjoy hitting deadlines and delivering results instead of spinning your wheels all day
• To walk the walk when it comes to attention to detail, listening and client relations
• An openness to travel and work non-standard office hours from time to time
• A portfolio or at least some examples to show us how dynamic you are
