Position Overview

Business Analyst is the bridge between process and technology, and supports Product Development by translating business needs into clear, testable requirements that are used by our Vendor, InEight, to create a quality product for our end-users. This role works specifically with the InEight Compliance product, which tracks Environmental, Safety and Compliance standards in the field.

District Overview

Kiewit Technology Group’s (KTG) mission is to deliver project schedule and cost certainty by employing technology designed by and for the construction industry. Our team deploys apps to the field that increase profitability by maximizing the way we use our people and resources in daily operations. KTG uses the Kiewit Management System (KMS), which includes systems and tools that manage every part of Kiewit’s business and lifecycle of a project, to improve planning and day-to-day execution in the field by giving our people real-time data to make faster, smarter decisions. Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. 

Responsibilities

•    Solicits requirements by identifying a desired future state that addresses a business problem
•    Articulates requirements to the lowest level of detail that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives and project success 
•    Builds and maintains requirements, through user stories, tasks and acceptance criteria that can be utilized by Development and QA to build and test appropriately
•    Provide accurate effort estimates for business analyst tasks, assisting others where needed
•    Assess solution options and prioritize competing business demands
•    Manage relationships with business partners to drive satisfaction with IT
•    Consult on product lifecycle management
•    Create Product process and integration maps
•    Uses deep knowledge around Business Process to design appropriate solutions
•    Recognize and participate in the management of the Product(s) lifecycle from strategic planning through support and decommissioning
•    Contribute to the recommendation and implementation of Product best practices and toolsets to increase quality results and service bandwidth
•    Contributes to Business Case and ROI efforts 
•    Work collaboratively with other Business and IT Product and Support Teams to ensure communications, transparently integrated processes and seamless support delivery
•    Identify and address critical issues that could impact the fit and quality of solutions and escalate as needed
•    Participate in product-related project plans, resources and deliverables to defined timelines and scope
•    Assist in advising and guiding colleagues on any aspect of the Product, including training for other IT product or support teams, and business partners where appropriate
•    Leads others in the practice of systems analysis

Qualifications

•    3+ years of experience in software development or related information management role (mobile, custom, SAP, and/or 3rd party) or equivalent role
•    Highly motivated and self-directed
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present information both to technical and non-technical customers/stakeholders, in appropriate media and form
•    Ability to work on multiple complex projects at once
•    Ability to maintain a clear focus on achieving results that meet professional and quality standards, within agreed timescales
•    Possess an understanding of information management project and quality control best practices
•    Involvement with multiple custom developed product and project life cycle implementations.
•    Excellent organization and time-management skills
•    Demonstrate initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards
•    Pro-actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the department and acting upon findings to initiate improvements
•    Knowledge of Visio, SharePoint and Microsoft Suite or similar products

 

Bonus points for:
•    Bachelor's degree in a technology related field preferred
•    Experience in implementation of enterprise products that satisfy construction related business needs
•    Knowledge of various project management methodologies (Agile, waterfall)
•    Possess an understanding of information technology project management best practices
•    Experience with InEight Compliance or Kietrac 
•    Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
•    Knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, SQL
