Position Overview

As a Kiewit Technology Group (KTG) Project Manager/Scrum Master, you will be responsible for the management of projects and coordination with peers to achieve program level success.  While some of the work for this team is conducted in a waterfall manner, the volume of work in the space necessitates the use of Agile values and principles within the project teams to ensure proper prioritization and execution of work.  The role facilitates a variety of meetings, workshops, and ceremonies in support of all types of work for the team. Additionally, they are responsible for the accurate and timely upkeep of data related to the team’s performance including project schedules, resource plans, and risks/issues and financial summaries that define and report progress toward cost savings and program success.  The Project Manager fosters the team’s self-organization and does anything possible to help the team realize the goals of their product roadmap and perform at the highest level.

Kiewit Technology Group’s (KTG) mission is to deliver project schedule and cost certainty by employing technology designed by and for the construction industry. This position is based out of our La Vista, NE office.

Responsibilities

•    Oversee multiple concurrent complex projects
•    Drive establishment of, and enforce, team ground rules and cultural norms
•    Enable collaboration across all roles and functions
•    Ensure the team is fully functional and productive
•    Protect the team by identifying and removing or escalating any distractions, impediments or roadblocks
•    Review action items / next steps and hold the team accountable for follow-through.  Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time
•    Stay focused on delivery and quality by encouraging teamwork, transparency, and collaboration, minimizing silos and blind hand-offs
•    Manage budget estimates, actual cost, and remaining work forecast/cost evaluations, applicable to the project(s), with the ability to speak to the details and escalate any risks with the project sponsor and stakeholders
•    Develop and manage the detailed project and release plans, including all dependencies, resource constraints, associated timelines, gate checks, reviews, and reporting
•    Manage interactions with all project participants and stakeholders to ensure an effective transition of reusable project-related documentation and results into production/operations ownership
•    Identify and mitigate risks as they occur elevating them to management, as appropriate, in a timely manner
•    Creatively facilitate retrospectives to elicit ideas and improvements

Qualifications

•    Experience with various project management methodologies (waterfall, Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.)
•    Must be able to communicate well with teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present information both to technical and non-technical customers/stakeholders, in appropriate media and form
•    Able to use Project Management / Agile methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, while adhering to high quality standards and meeting customer expectations
•    Able to effectively manage procurement of software, software development and hardware as required by the project
•    Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
•    Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics (burndown metrics, velocity)
•    Understand backlog tracking and task definition
•    Familiarity with techniques such as user story mapping, personas and persona mapping, visual management and information radiators
•    Ability to navigate complex release management environments and effective at planning and coordinating software releases at various intervals (monthly, adhoc)
•    Familiarity with Agile tools/products, such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Clarity, etc. is a plus
•    PMP certification or Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) is preferred
