Position Overview

As a Subcontracts Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing subcontract documents.

District Overview

Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value.   Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.

Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. 

Responsibilities

  • Understand and monitor compliance with legal and corporate requirements in association with Kiewit’s subcontract agreements
  • Follow established processes and procedures to communicate exceptions; collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Research quality or compliance issues and recommend changes for improvements
  • Manage and address cases related to Subcontracts utilizing the Service Now system
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; understand Kiewit’s core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement; collaborate with internal and external partners to increase efficiencies 
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement
  • Perform other job-related tasks as needed or assigned

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Experience in a professional work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly convey messages and ideas, gain understanding; generate interest and hold attention; listens and is open to the ideas of others
  • Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done
  • Attention to detail with ability to recognize discrepancies; ability to spot and anticipate problems and seek solutions
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work; ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to understand and follow process and controls; ability to identify and understand the interrelationship among processes, risks and controls
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work
  • Excellent collaboration and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with minimal supervision in a high volume environment
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Open to change and new information; able to rapidly adapt to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles; demonstrates flexibility in thought and action
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to lift, sit, stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, etc. 
  • Ability to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
  • Some accounting knowledge preferred
  • SAP background preferred
  • Accounts Payable experience preferred
