Position Overview

The Service Technician will be responsible for repairing, imaging, configuring and deploying desktop and laptop computers.  This position will maintain physical inventory, escalate issues as they arise, and resolve basic hardware issues on laptops and desktops.  This position will report to the Director of Client Technology Services within the Kiewit Technology Group Operations organization.

  • Follow all documented procedures related to PC imaging and repair.
  • Identify and resolve basic hardware issues
  • Manage, track and reconcile inventory
  • Manage and prioritize multiple related projects including troubleshooting, operations and maintenance.
  • Have attention to detail regarding software and hardware requests.
  • Create and maintain documentation of technical and procedural standards
  • Engage in appropriate escalation management activities
  • Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and department and act on the results to initiate improvements, presenting ideas persuasively to gain support.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and skills through proactive self-study of relevant technologies and processes.
  • Train peers to increase team skills.


  • Highly motivated, self-directed and autonomous.
  • Some experience with basic hardware repair tasks (hard drive and RAM replacement).
  • Experience with PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with all Windows operating systems
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as a member of multiple teams.
  • Demonstrate initiative, commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ability to work after hours as needed and be part of an on-call rotation.
