Position Overview

The Senior Nuclear Quality Manager for Kiewit Nuclear Solutions (KNS) will be responsible to manage quality programs and projects associated with Dept of Energy and commercial Small Modular Reactor (SMR) facilities.  This position requires thorough knowledge of codes, standards, and project scope requirements, including the ability to provide oversight of projects throughout North America.  The position requires strong communication skills with the ability to train individuals at all levels, as well as respectfully hold compliant whether the individual is an internal or external stakeholder.

Location

This position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN location. Position requires up to 50% travel to Idaho, New Mexico, Tennessee, Kansas City, and other client/project locations. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee quality to ensure project teams and approaches align with customer expectations and contract requirements to optimize time, cost, and quality constraints
  • Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with company leadership, project management teams, authorized inspectors, and engineer or client as required
  • Coordinate quality control staffing needs on projects and assign qualified personnel. Work with other business units as needed to share resources.
  • Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), checklists, quality risk levels, and other documentation for the project.
  • Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed.
  • Manage the Continuous Improvement program to prevent and/or resolve issues by working with Project Quality Managers, Project Managers and Clients.
  • Oversee quality assurance and control compliance for Government and commercial nuclear facilities and projects.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in construction management / engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of project management with quality assurance and quality control experience with DOE NNSA/EM or DoD nuclear programs
  • 10+ years of quality management and quality operations experience
  • Must have experience and familiarity of NQA-1, 10CFR50 and/or 10CFR830 quality codes and other government requirements.
  • PMP certifications is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel to project/client sites and as business requires.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Must be US Citizen or US Permanent resident 
  • Ability to acquire and maintain DOE Q Clearance is highly desirable
