Job Level: Senior Level

Department: Design Engineering

Market: Transportation

Employment Type: Full Time

Position Overview

Kiewit is starting a new design team specializing in Hydropower and Dams (H&D) and is seeking top performing contributors to lead the initial building efforts and sustain growth over the coming years.

Working out of either the Denver, CO; Federal Way, WA;  Lenexa, KS; McLean, VA; Woodcliff Lake, NJ, or one of the various other Kiewit US offices (some remote work may be possible), the candidate will work closely with the other founding members of the Kiewit H&D engineering team to provide various services to internal teams for the development of H&D projects

Initial responsibilities will include support to the Kiewit H&D business development efforts, participation in proposal preparation, contribution to construction estimating, scheduling and planning efforts, involvement in H&D projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), as well as engagement as a Design Manager tasked to provide feedback in the selection of third-party design firms, and planning and controlling the deliverance of their scope in projects

The ultimate goal is to build a small team of H&D SMEs, to be led by the successful candidate, who could be semi-autonomous in delivering high-risk scope items of future H&D projects. In that regards, medium to long term responsibilities will also include the building and management of a Subject Matter technical team as well as the contribution, with the team, to the engineering scope of upcoming H&D projects.

Have you ever wanted to start your own H&D engineering team, but found that the obstacles were too big? Do you want to work with construction teams that really value your engineering insight, rather than seeing it as a necessary evil? The Kiewit H&D Engineering team is the place for you!
